Some Surface Laptop 4 users may notice video issues on their devices while using the Microsoft Teams Desktop App. The IT department is aware of this issue and Microsoft is developing a fix. These issues are expected to be resolved within the next 3-4 weeks.
Recently the IT department has become aware of numerous issues with Surface Laptop 4 devices. These devices may experience video freezing and other errors when enabling the camera due to a recent driver update while using the Microsoft Teams Desktop App. After consulting with Microsoft service bulletins and an initial assessment by IT, we have determined that the best course of action will be to await a fix from Microsoft which is slated to arrive in the next 3-4 weeks.
If you are impacted by this service incident, one workaround is to use the Teams Web App (teams.microsoft.com) versus the Desktop App. A temporary fix may have already reached your device via windows update, but the delivery of any temporary fix is managed by Microsoft. This should be temporary as Microsoft rolls out a more permanent solution. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue.
